I've got a question for you: do you believe this CB independence talk will go somewhere? And if it does, will it help? My reasoning is this: if all CB's directors continue to be appointed from within the bureaucracy, there can be no such a thing as an independent CB, no matter what the law says about staggered 6 years mandates.
And even under the current legal arrangement, if we were there, threatening to quit, the Selic would already be at 11%.
